The Tao (the way) of Catching Shadow.
You must have light in order for the camera to capture an image. Look at the left side of the picture. The sun light shows the colour and the texture of the floor. You can see it and you can imagine the floor is both rough and hard. On the right the floor is there but you can no longer see it. The floor is gone, cloakd in deep dark shadow. The shadow exist because of the light. The light and shadow compliment each other. Without them side by side the picture will appear uninteresting. So next time before you take a picture, seek out the light and shadow.
